Independent VoIP monitoring, built by engineers for engineers since 2003
VoIPmonitor is an open-source packet sniffer with a commercial web GUI and call recorder for monitoring and troubleshooting VoIP/RTC networks.
We started as Linux and VoIP enthusiasts experimenting with Asterisk, OpenSER and other open-source projects back in 2003 – and ended up building the tool we were missing ourselves.
In the early 2000s, running VoIP in production meant a lot of guesswork. There was no lightweight, always-on monitoring tool that could:
So instead of waiting for someone else to build it, we created VoIPmonitor as an open-source sniffer, and later added a commercial web GUI for deep analysis, reporting, alerting and recording.
The core sniffer remains open-source under GNU/GPL and is widely used on its own or together with our GUI.
With 15+ years on the market, VoIPmonitor has grown from a personal side project into a mature product used by service providers, carriers, call centres and enterprises in many countries.
Our largest single-server deployments handle tens of thousands of concurrent calls while providing detailed CDRs, MOS metrics, packet-level analysis and full session recording.
We are a small, focused team led by the original author of VoIPmonitor, still actively involved in the codebase, support and customer projects.
VoIPmonitor is developed and operated by Martin Vit as an independent software vendor based in the Czech Republic. Instead of building a large corporate structure, we chose to stay lean and close to the product, working with a distributed network of partners and integrators worldwide.
If you are considering VoIPmonitor for your environment, we will be happy to help you evaluate it, design an architecture and get your first deployment running smoothly.
